The role: Poker Operations Associate

We are looking for a Poker Operations Associate to join our fast-growing team based in our Cherry Hill office

This role follows a hybrid approach to working, allowing you to combine working from home with working in our modern offices. These discussions are between you and your manager to find the best pattern for you both! The Poker Operations Manager is an advocate for poker and responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the poker offering on PokerStars’ North American platforms.  Core components of the role include analysis of game performance, recommendation and implementation of changes to the offering, planning of promotions, oversight of usage of new features and games, participation in poker policy discussions and communication directly with customers.

Everyone on our team has a part to play, your responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee the deployment, management and quality of the poker game offering for PokerStars’ North American platforms

  • Recommend and implement changes to the poker offering to optimize it to specific North American needs based on liquidity and player preferences.

  • Lead in the creation, development and execution of compelling, player focused offerings and promotions to achieve superior playing experiences while satisfying business objectives

  • Consult with leadership on current trends, market conditions, competitive landscape and areas of opportunity within the poker offering and the igaming business at large

  • Liaise with cross functional teams (CRM, Marketing, Live Events, Casino Operations and others) on tournament and game attributes, ensuring compliance with all regulations and company policies while fulfilling requests accurately and on time

  • Request and provide support for new development tasks based on player and business needs and ensure that all central development features are properly utilized for North America

  • Closely review and manage tournament guarantees to meet the tournament overlay budget

  • Assist Poker CRM with creation, scheduling, and management of the poker promotional calendar

  • Provide direction in crafting player-facing communications, including but not limited to announcements regarding tournament schedules, promotions, policy changes in conjunction with PR and Marketing.

  • Handle escalations from Customer Support and players for a variety of poker and software/technical issues

  • Request and manage data projects in coordination with Business Intelligence with the aim of providing policy change recommendations

  • Provide timely reports regarding performance to management as required

Who we're looking for:

The Manager will ideally have extensive experience in a gaming, operations or analytics role. You will have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or commensurate online gaming industry experience.

As the ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Exhaustive knowledge of poker, including all game and betting variations, tournament structures industry trends, online operators, and offerings with an understanding of the basics of game theory.

  • In-depth knowledge of the PokerStars client, including features and promotions

  • Extensive experience playing online poker; preferably within US or Ontario regulated operators

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both in-person and across various digital formats

  • Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas and arguments clearly and efficiently in writing

  • Willingness to work long and often unusual hours

  • Intermediate or better skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and other business productivity software

  • Prior experience interacting with complex systems

  • Ability and willingness to educate internal partners on the nuances of poker

  • Mission driven with demonstrated ability to manage projects and teams.
