Senior Business Analyst - Product Architecture

Mast Jobs

Overview of the role:

People development is core to our Flutter values and you’ll be surrounded and supported by a leading team of digital and technological experts that deliver and evolve at a fast pace, and will help and push you to develop at an equally rapid rate.

In this critical role, you’ll have frequent and significant exposure to the Senior Leadership team, and play a vital role shaping the strategic direction for the company’s future operating model. You’ll have the scope to push the boundaries, to shape & design test innovative new insights and experiences, and be well rewarded and recognised for doing so.

This role follows a hybrid approach to working, allowing you to combine working from home with working in our modern offices. These discussions are between you and your manager to find the best pattern for you both, while recognising that quality time together is essential for keeping us mission-aligned.

Our Leeds office is at the heart of our business. The 8-storey building has an onsite staff gym and cafeteria, two heated rooftop terraces, a dedicated gaming room and a staircase amphitheatre. The space brings all our teams under one roof in the biggest private letting office in Yorkshire.

What you’ll do:

Reporting into a newly established function of Product Architecture, this role will be part of a small senior team accountable for achieving the outcomes on Key Strategic Business Programmes.

Success for the new Product Architecture function will see our Platform being an asset for our business in the multi-brand, multi-license, multi-vertical and multi-channel world we play. Your role will include high-level analysis on key programmes that deliver on that Platform-as-an-asset vision.

As a key individual contributor, you will be part of a leadership team on specific programmes, working with the local verticals to analyse the right solutions, seeking clarity on key decisions points and ensuring the business makes the globally correct decision over any local vertical interest.

You will lead, from an analysis perspective, on programmes but ensure each area of the business appropriately analyses, understands and takes responsibility for their involvement in making the overall programme a success.

What you’ll bring:

  • Ownership of clear & unambiguous functional and non-functional business requirements and processes.
  • Conduct Stakeholder analysis, working with key partners across the global organisation to: identify & document business & customer requirements for core platforms and brands; build a detailed gaps analysis
  • Condense gaps and requirements into prioritised system development
  • Work with development teams to size the work and support planning of the roadmap.
  • Take ownership and leadership of the entire analysis life cycle within an Agile product development lifecycle.
  • Understand RAID, proactive escalation of risk with mitigation analysis and recommendations.
  • Be a key team member at project initiation, assisting with setting the strategy and scope of the project.

Plan Execution

  • Work with the local teams/brands and the programme leadership teams to review current challenges, uncover root causes, recommend course correction, and implement strategies to support implementation effectiveness based on feedback
  • Define clear & unambiguous functional and non-functional business requirements and processes.
  • Share the detail behind your analysis with appropriate partners, define and communicate any key issues

Key Skills and Characteristics

  • Senior BA experience within a scaled agile development methodology environment
  • Bring a deep understanding and experience of Business Analysis standard methodology
  • Naturally collaborative with a strong commitment to encouraging cross-functional problem solving and decision making to realise outcomes and build trust
  • An analytical and inquisitive mind-set with the ability to analyse complex problems, determine solutions, and produce tangible outcomes
  • Ability to maintain a balance between short-term delivery and longer-term strategy
  • Highly organised and self-motivated, with a demonstrable history of ownership, responsibility and accountability.
  • A pragmatic outlook with a strong focus on delivery, and a desire to see a job through to conclusion
  • Excellent networking, communication and influencing skills, comfortable operating at all levels of an organisation
