Role Overview
The Product Director – Player Platform is responsible for the vision, strategy, and execution of Flutter CEE’s shared player platform capabilities across brands and markets. The role has end-to-end product accountability for Payments, Casino Engine, PAM & Wallet, Regulatory & Compliance, and Safer Gambling.
The role ensures these capabilities are secure, reliable, scalable, reusable, and cost-effective, while meeting regulatory obligations and supporting safe, seamless player experiences. It owns the cross-brand product strategy, roadmap, delivery priorities, and performance of the Player Platform domain, balancing player and commercial value with platform health, compliance, operational resilience, and new-market requirements.
The Product Director – Player Platform works closely with the Player Experience, Sportsbook, Customer Marketing, and Data Products teams to ensure shared platform capabilities enable joined-up propositions and journeys. The role also partners closely with Commercial teams and brand leadership, and with Engineering peers, Architecture, Security, Compliance, and Operations, translating regional needs into executable product roadmaps and measurable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Player Platform Strategy & Capability Ownership
- Define and own the vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for the Player Platform domain across Payments, Casino Engine, PAM & Wallet, Regulatory & Compliance, and Safer Gambling.
- Set clear product outcomes, investment priorities, and performance measures for each capability, balancing player value, business impact, regulatory requirements, platform health, and long-term scalability.
- Build shared capabilities that can be reused across Flutter CEE brands and markets, reducing duplication and accelerating new-market entry.
- Maintain clear ownership, dependencies, capability maturity, adoption, and gaps across the Player Platform portfolio.
Core Domain Product Leadership
- Payments — own the product strategy for payment methods, provider integrations, payment performance, resilience, and scalable market enablement.
- Casino Engine — own the core casino engine and shared services that enable game integrations, configuration, availability, performance, and scalable delivery across brands, working with Player Experience on customer-facing casino journeys.
- PAM & Wallet — own player account management and wallet capabilities, including the core services required to manage player accounts, balances, transactions, and shared account functionality across products.
- Regulatory & Compliance — ensure platform capabilities can meet market-specific regulatory requirements through configurable, auditable, and scalable controls, working closely with Compliance and relevant operational teams.
- Safer Gambling — own the product capabilities that support player protection, including limits, controls, self-exclusion, interventions, and other safer-gambling requirements across brands and markets.
Product Delivery & Technology Partnership
- Lead the product leaders and teams responsible for the Player Platform portfolio, ensuring roadmaps, backlogs, discovery, and delivery are aligned to regional priorities and measurable outcomes.
- Partner closely with Engineering peers, Architecture, and Security on APIs, event models, service boundaries, integration patterns, technical design, security-by-design, and delivery trade-offs.
- Balance new capability delivery with technical debt, reliability, observability, security, performance, and cost efficiency.
- Establish reusable integration and market-onboarding patterns that improve delivery speed while maintaining operational and regulatory standards.
Cross-Product Collaboration
- Work closely with Player Experience to ensure Player Platform capabilities enable seamless onboarding, account, payment, casino, wallet, regulatory, and safer-gambling journeys, with clear ownership between platform capabilities and customer-facing experience.
- Partner with Sportsbook to ensure shared player capabilities — particularly account, wallet, payments, regulatory controls, and safer gambling — support the sportsbook proposition and roadmap.
- Partner with Customer Marketing to enable the shared player capabilities, permissions, controls, and platform dependencies required for responsible and effective customer lifecycle experiences.
- Partner with Data Products to ensure Player Platform services produce trusted, usable data and events, and that product teams have the data products and measures required to understand performance and player outcomes.
- Partner closely with Commercial teams and brand leadership to understand market priorities, commercial opportunities, player needs, and launch requirements, translating them into scalable platform priorities while avoiding unnecessary local divergence.
- Coordinate dependencies, sequencing, and trade-offs across these product areas so shared capabilities are planned once, reused effectively, and do not create fragmented ownership or duplicated solutions.
Operational Excellence, Regulatory Delivery & Player Protection
- Define and monitor product-level health measures for availability, latency, reliability, adoption, incident trends, payment performance, wallet integrity, and service performance.
- Act as the senior product escalation point for major Player Platform issues, ensuring incidents and post-mortems translate into clear corrective actions and roadmap changes where required.
- Ensure platform product decisions support security, privacy, regulatory compliance, auditability, and safer-gambling obligations across all markets.
- Drive continuous optimisation of platform cost, performance, vendor dependencies, operational resilience, and regulatory readiness.
Leadership, Team Development & Performance
- Build, lead, and coach high-performing product leaders and teams across the Player Platform portfolio, creating clear accountability and strong product-management standards.
- Set measurable objectives, establish effective performance and development rhythms, and build succession and capability plans for key product roles.
- Promote a culture of outcome ownership, evidence-led prioritisation, collaboration, reuse, player protection, and continuous improvement across the Player Platform organisation.
Qualifications & Experience
- 10+ years of product leadership experience in high-scale digital businesses, with significant ownership of platform or shared product capabilities.
- Strong experience in one or more of the core Player Platform domains: payments, PAM/wallet, gaming platforms or casino engines, regulatory technology, compliance products, or safer-gambling capabilities.
- Proven experience leading multi-team product organisations and complex roadmaps across multiple brands, markets, or business units.
- Strong understanding of platform product management, APIs and integrations, event-driven systems, third-party providers, reliability, security, and operational performance.
- Proven ability to balance player and commercial outcomes with regulatory obligations, technical debt, operational resilience, and long-term scalability.
- Strong stakeholder leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence executives, Commercial and brand leaders, Engineering peers, Architecture, Security, Compliance stakeholders, and product peers.
- Experience in regulated digital industries such as iGaming, fintech, payments, or financial services is highly desirable.
- Fluency in English is required.
