As we celebrate World Health Day this Monday, we’re highlighting someone who doesn’t just talk about health—he lives it and shares it.
Meet Abhi Bhujaballi, a Solutions Architect at PokerStars who also happens to be a certified Group Fitness Instructor. With a passion for movement and a deep understanding of its impact on both the body and mind, Abhi has taken it upon himself to bring that energy into the workplace. He recently launched a 4-week pilot wellness initiative—a fitness program designed to help us move more, de-stress, and boost our energy during the workweek. Open to all fitness levels, the sessions blend stretching, bodyweight movements, and light interval training in an approachable and energizing format.
We sat down with Abhi to hear more about his journey, the program, and his message to anyone thinking about taking that first step.
Can you share a little about your background in fitness and what led you to become a certified group fitness instructor?
Fitness has been a core part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I played competitive cricket and volleyball, which taught me the value of discipline, teamwork, and physical resilience. Outside of my role as a Solutions Architect at PokerStars, I now coach a competitive youth volleyball team, which has deepened my appreciation for how movement impacts not just physical performance, but mental well-being too.
Through years of playing and now coaching, I’ve developed a strong passion for helping others build healthy habits, grow in confidence, and feel more energized through movement. That passion is what led me to become a certified Group Fitness Instructor—to expand my impact beyond the court and create inclusive, accessible workouts for people of all fitness levels.
I also volunteer by leading group workouts in the park for a friend’s community fitness group. It’s been incredibly fulfilling to see how simply moving together can spark connection, boost motivation, and build a sense of belonging.
What inspired you to create this 4-week fitness program?
The inspiration came from a desire to get people moving—especially those of us in desk jobs where we spend most of the day sitting. The group workouts I led at a friend’s park fitness class started off casually, just a fun and active way to spend time with friends, but the energy and positive feedback were incredible. That experience really opened my eyes to how powerful movement can be in building community and boosting well-being.
So, I thought, why not try something similar in the workplace? This 4-week program was designed as a pilot to gauge interest and see if we could turn it into a regular midweek movement break. I kept it light, approachable, and equipment-free—something that could work for all fitness levels and feel like a refreshing pause in the middle of a busy day. The early response has been super encouraging!
"The Office Workout Crew"
What are the main goals of this program?
The goal of this program is to make movement simple, sustainable, and something people genuinely look forward to. Each session blends dynamic stretching, interval-based bodyweight workouts, and cooldowns to encourage regular movement, improve mobility and posture, and create a fun, welcoming environment for all fitness levels.
It’s more than just physical. Movement triggers the brain's natural feel-good chemicals that support focus, reduce stress, and enhance our mental well-being. When we move, we think better, feel better, and work better. This program is really about supporting both body and mind while also creating a space to connect through shared activity.
What are the biggest benefits participants can gain from joining?
Regular movement, even in short bursts, offers incredible benefits. Physically, it supports flexibility, posture, strength, and circulation—especially important for desk workers. But just as importantly, it boosts mood, sharpens focus, and helps us feel more balanced and energized throughout the day.
And then there’s the social side. Moving together builds connection and morale, and adds a layer of fun to the work day. It turns a normal afternoon into something to look forward to. Programs like this help create a more engaged, positive workplace culture.

What advice would you give to someone who is hesitant about starting?
You don’t need to be fit to start—you just need to start. Go at your own pace and begin with what feels doable. I totally understand that trying something new can feel intimidating, but this program is designed to meet you where you are. The beauty of bodyweight workouts is their adaptability. Whether you’re doing full movements or modifications, every bit of effort counts.
It’s not about perfection—it’s about progress. Even 20 to 30 minutes of light movement can leave you feeling more energized and accomplished. And remember, you’re not doing it alone. We’re all in this together!

Abhi's initiative reminds us that health isn’t just a personal pursuit—it’s something we can share, encourage, and build together. By making movement fun, accessible, and social, he’s helping transform the way we approach wellness at work.
This World Health Day, let’s take a moment to appreciate those who lead with heart and action. Here’s to healthier habits, stronger connections, and a workplace that moves forward—together.
