At the recent Malta iGaming Excellence Awards 2024, our very own Customer Marketing and Operations Director, Hilda Ingham, won the Best Woman Leader of the Year Award!

Congratulations Hilda, very well deserved!
Can you describe what receiving this award means to you and how it reflects your journey here?
Receiving this award is such an honor and definitely a career highlight. To be recognized by my colleagues and the Malta iGaming industry in this way is incredibly special. I started at PokerStars as an Event Coordinator, over seventeen years ago, and never would have thought that I would progress to become Director or receive an award such as this.
What aspects of working here do you believe contributed to your success and this recognition?
The people I work with are the reason I was not only successful in winning this award but was nominated at all! Great leaders thrive with the support of their teams. I am lucky enough to work with amazing colleagues and the culture here encourages openness and collaboration.
Alongside this, Flutter's RISE summit and Lean In Together initiative have really opened my eyes to the importance of having gender equality in the workplace. Flutter supports this fully as part of its Positive Impact Plan and the more I can do to support both men and women here in feeling they can grow and develop, as I have done, the better.
The Lean In Together Network provides a safe space for women to connect and grow, share their workplace experiences, and support one another. It goes beyond a women's network, by bringing in allies from across the business and building a supportive community across all genders.
Can you share a memorable experience or project that has been particularly impactful or rewarding for you?
Wow, there are so many over the past seventeen years, choosing one is really hard. There are so many events which were incredibly rewarding and impactful, such as the first PSPC and being part of the European Poker Tours for many years, living on the road for months at a time. I also watched them grow and worked to ensure the player experience got better and better. As well as the adversities we had to overcome, which make you into a stronger person each time, able to deal with challenges more effectively.
Ultimately however, for me the most rewarding parts are seeing those I have managed or mentored grow and progress in their careers or hearing from players who have had an amazing experience as a result of a project led by me or the team. It sounds a bit cheesy, but the experience people have – whether players or teammates - is really what drives me.
